The locations of the first two Visalia self storage units that we looked at were clean and looked quite secure. They had the entire facility surrounded by high fencing and the only way on the property was through a gate that opened with a key code. There were also security cameras everywhere and seemed to be ample lighting to deter any intruders. Unfortunately, one of them had gravel instead of paved lanes between the buildings and there were holes and ruts that needed to be evened out. The other one had paved lanes, but we noticed that some of the buildings were not in the best condition due to water damage from gutters that seemed to be clogged with leaves from the trees on the neighboring property.
The third Visalia self storage unit that we looked out was the one that we decided to rent. There were no issues with maintenance, security, or cleanliness. In addition, the facility had longer daily gate hours that allowed us to access our belongings better. We would not have to worry about cutting our boating trip short in order to get everything back to the storage unit before they locked up for the night and turned on the alarm system.
