This posed a great problem for us. By the end of the school year, it was evident that it would take more than one trip to bring everything home from their dormitories. However, with both of us working that meant that we could only do it on the weekends. We did not want to bring a load home from one college dorm and turn around right away to go get the second load, but that meant that we would either have to take off from our work or be spending at least four weekends to bring everything home and then go through it all over again when the new school year started. Aside from that, we were wondering where in our home we were going to be able to store extra dressers and the other furniture items without overcrowding our living space.
The solution to our dilemma turned out to be quite simple. Our son saw a self storage facility flyer on a school bulletin board. It offered a discount to student's that rented a storage unit over the summer months. We checked into the idea and it turned out to be quite a good deal so we made arrangements to store his things over the summer. Our daughter had not seen any flyers at her college, but we checked into the storage facilities in that area and found one that would work for us.
