Get Ready for the Fall Season

Written by

It's September already. October is just around the corner! One of the must do's during this period of time is to switch out our everyday clothing. Even though you really like that shirt or dress, it's getting cold. Think about getting some storage space and replacing your summer attire with winter attire. Here's a list of things to de clutter your closet:

1. Have you worn it in the past 3 months?

Chances are, if you haven't worn it in the past 3 months, you're not going to wear it anytime soon. Everyone is guilty of this. Yes, even you. Take the right step and store it in a climate controlled storage unit so you can wear it next year.

2. Will you wear it in the next 3 months?

If you were really planning to wear that certain dress, you would have worn it by now. Have you ever heard of the 20/80 rule? It applies to clothing as well. You wear 20% of your clothing 80% of the time. Think about it.

3. Is it damaged?

Clothes get damaged sometimes. It's ok. If your piece of clothing is damaged, take it over to the local dry cleaners and repair it. Since you're there already, you might as well clean it and get ready to put it into storage for the next few months.

4. Clean the closet

5. Clean the cloths before you store them away

It might be a hassle, but at the end of the day, it's worth cleaning the clothes before storing them away. This way it preserves them when they are in storage. If you are storing your clothing in a storage unit, make sure to store it in a climate controlled unit. This way it protects your clothing from potential damage during the holiday season!
